Staying on top of the latest online research tools is critical for journalists, especially at a time when in-person interviews and travel continue to be restricted.
GIJN is pleased to introduce the first of two webinars focused on Asia with online search expert Paul Myers. In this free two-hour session, aimed at journalists in South Asia but open to all, Myers will share tips on Google advanced search and techniques for digging up information online. He will also share methods for retrieving information deleted from the net, as well as tools to find people online. The training will feature live interpretation into Bangla, Hindi, and Urdu.
One of GIJN’s most popular trainers, Paul Myers has worked for the BBC at the sharp end of online research for over 25 years, pioneering online research techniques that are now commonplace in the media. He runs the researchclinic.net website and is constantly at work devising new investigative strategies for the changing digital landscape.
This is the first of two GIJN training sessions with Myers on Asia. The second webinar will take place on May 31 at 4 a.m. EST / 4 p.m. HKT. Watch our Twitter feed @gijn and newsletter for details on future events.
