From the Experts: GIJN’s Daily Video Tips for Investigative Journalism

At GIJN we’re busy building up our digital library of tips, tools and other resources for journalists worldwide who want to dig deeper and ask tougher questions, as well as stay sustainable — and secure — in their work.

Starting today and running daily for the next two months on GIJN’s  YouTube channel — as well as on our main Facebook and Twitter platforms — our new Tip of the Day format features top experts sharing one critical insight each day — in under a minute. These tips range from investigative basics like following public records or investigating with data to using financial records and the latest online search strategies.

The new series joins our growing video library on YouTube, already more than 300 strong.

While you’re at it, don’t forget to check out the GIJN Resource Center, where you’ll find a trove of tip sheets covering everything from investigating companies and mobile journalism to tracking ships and planes around the world. We also delve into the business side of the media, including how to become effective fundraisers and better engage audiences.

We’re expanding the Resource Center, so let us know what else you’d like to see. Email the GIJN staff here.
