GIJN Africa: Tips and Tools
Covering Africa, and particularly doing investigative journalism on the continent, comes with its unique sets of challenges that can require a unique set of tips and tools.
We have curated some of the tipsheets from the 2019 Global Investigative Journalism Conference (GIJC) in Hamburg, Germany, which were created by African journalists.
Additionally, we have selected a set of articles from GIJN’s “My Favorite Tools” interview series, focusing on journalists whose work has Africa at its core, as well as a guide to investigating the extractives industry.
The various experiences and deep insights shared by the investigative journalists in this section will help to enrich every journalist’s ability to carry out investigations and report from any part of sub-Saharan Africa.
