A Global Guide to Investigative Journalism Organizations

(Note: For an updated version of this article, please check GIJN’s Resource Pages. — The Editors)

Need to contact an investigative journalist abroad? Seeking a reporter in a remote part of the world? Here are nonprofit organizations worldwide that work in support of investigative journalism, listed by region. It’s a diverse group that includes nonprofit newsrooms, online publishers, professional associations, NGOs, training institutes, and academic centers in nearly 50 countries.

To be included in the list, GIJN applied the following criteria: the group is a nonprofit or non-governmental organization operating in the public interest; its primary mission includes support of investigative journalism; and, for reporting organizations, there is a substantial, on-going commitment to in-depth project reporting or data journalism.
