Use Our Stuff: GIJN’s Republishing Guidelines

Read this page in

You are welcome to republish stories generated by GIJN for non-commercial purposes, and articles and guides are generally available under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International license.

We often reprint from other sources, however, and those stories and images can only be licensed if we have explicit permission from the authors, photographers, or publishers. The same goes for videos from our conferences.

We sometimes purchase photos or illustrations from commercial services that do not allow for them to be reused, so please check the provenance of images (which we indicate in their captions) and verify whether or not you have the right to use them.

When using our stories, you must give appropriate credit to GIJN and the author, and provide a link to the original story on the GIJN website. Please also include this text on your page: “This story was originally published by the Global Investigative Journalism Network.”

We do not allow changes to our original stories unless we specifically approve. If you have our permission to edit, change, or shorten content, please indicate that the story appearing is an edited version of the original story which was first published on GIJN.

We are always happy to hear about republication. Let us know at hello@gijn.org. You can also contact us at this address for any queries.
