UK Media Spying Challenged in ECHR

The London-based Bureau of Investigative Journalism has filed a case with the European Court of Human Rights, challenging the UK government's mass surveillance practices. The TBIJ is asking the court to rule on whether UK legislation properly protects journalists’ sources and communications from government scrutiny and mass surveillance.

Story of the Day: KCIJ Bares Spy Twitter Accts

The Korean Center for Investigative Journalism has added to revelations that South Korea’s National Intelligence Service created hundreds of Internet IDs and more than 5,000 Internet posts, some used to attack opposition parties and candidates during December’s presidential election. The KCIJ revealed data and analysis on 658 Twitter accounts used by the spy agency for political purposes.
