New Adriatic IJ Center Launched in Slovenia

Oštro, a new center for investigative journalism, has launched to report on the Adriatic region, covering Slovenia,  Croatia, Italy and neighboring countries. Founded by veteran Slovenian reporter Anuska Delic, the Ljubljana-based newsroom vows to "nurture investigative and data journalism, champion the right to know as one of the fundamental human rights, spread journalistic knowledge, and contribute to the cultivation of future generations of journalists." Ostro has joined the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project and is working with the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists on Panama Papers stories.

Slovenia Journalist Indicted for “Leaking Secrets”

The Slovenian Prosecutors’ office has indicted Anuška Delić, a respected journalist for the Slovenian newspaper Delo, for allegedly publishing classified secrets. If Delić is found guilty, she could face up to three years in prison. Delić says that the investigation was initiated by the Slovene Intelligence and Security Agency as retaliation for her investigative work.
