CPJ Announces Press Freedom Awards

The Committee to Protect Journalists announced its 2018 International Press Freedom Award winners. The awardees include: Amal Khalifa Idris Habbani, a freelance journalist and contributor to the Sudanese news outlet Al-Taghyeer; Nguyen Ngoc Nhu Quynh, one of Vietnam's most prominent independent bloggers; Luz Mely Reyes, a Venezuelan investigative reporter and co-founder of the independent news website Efecto Cocuyo; and Anastasiya (Nastya) Stanko, a journalist and TV presenter who is a member of the "Stop censorship" movement in Ukraine. CPJ is also honoring Philippine journalist Maria Ressa, founder of the news website Rappler, with the Gwen Ifill Press Freedom Award.
