Zikri Kamarulzaman is the News Editor at Malaysiakini. He has been in the media industry since 2010, and with Malaysiakini since 2014. As a journalist, he and the rest of the Malaysiakini team played a key role in helping to expose the 1MDB financial scandal to Malaysians at a time when the government controlled the media with a heavy hand.

As an editor, he assists Malaysiakini’s writers in navigating various legal landmines when writing articles that touch on sensitive matters such as those involving the royalty, or politicians in key positions of power.
