Angolan Journalist Marques Acquitted

Famed Angolan investigative journalist Rafael Marques was acquitted Friday by a court in Luanda, the country's capital. Marques and editor Mariano Bras stood accused of insulting the state and the case has been widely denounced by press and human rights groups as a sham and harassment of journalists doing their job. The journalists had published a story alleging that former Attorney-General Joao Maria de Sousa had acquired land illegally.
