Melinda Cooke-Vandaveer has over 20 years of experience in event planning for corporations, non-profits, and media organizations.
As Director of Membership for the National Press Club, Melinda was responsible for retaining, recruitment, and programming for more than 3500 members worldwide. She produced the internationally televised National Press Club Speakers Series and managed the production of close to 100 news-focused events annually. At the Press Club, she was also responsible for planning the Club’s largest fundraisers, the National Press Club 5k and the 4th Estate Award Dinner.
In 2015, Melinda launched her own successful corporate event planning company where she worked on projects with AstraZeneca, UNCF, and Pfizer and The Africa Center. However, her passion lies with organizations that support the future of journalism. She has worked with organizations such as the Online News Association, The National Press Club, The National Press Club Journalism Institute to create experiences that support and defend journalists worldwide.
