Amr Hassan Sayed has worked in journalism for eight years, since he was plunged from his university communications studies into covering the unfolding revolution in his native Egypt. After three years as a reporter for local channels, he joined Al Jazeera as a field reporter. As he was wrapping up his MA in New Media & Digital journalism, Egyptian authorities raided the AJ bureau in Cairo and arrested his colleagues. He moved to AJ headquarters in Qatar where he launched and, for the next four years, presented the daily TV show Hashtag. Amr has covered stories from Tunis, Beirut, Istanbul and London, and currently serves as the Washington, DC, reporter for Al Jazeera Mubasher (Live).
